Westeck Windows and Doors joins 800 professionals at The Global Buyers Mission presented by BC Wood at the Whistler Conference Centre.
In addition to participating in the GBM program, Westeck is proud to take part in the mini seminar series Wood Talks ™ Friday Afternoon. Joining Darwin Ortis, VP of Sales, and John Neels, VP of Operations, Westeck welcomes Chris Chan (www.rangate.com) and Cody Belton(www.akiraliving.com) in Passive House and high efficiency home construction. Akira Living is a Building Enclosure Consulting Firm that works with Architects, Residential Designers, Developers, Builders, and the most vital participants of all – the Homeowners.
During the mini seminars, Westeck Windows and Doors is proud to debut our Passive House Institute approved Wood Outswing Window.
We look forward to sharing our journey, and discussing the benefits of our Passive House window with architects, designers, and builders attending the GBM conference.
About the Global Buyers Mission
GLOBAL BUYERS MISSION™
The best business building event in Canada for wood products manufacturers interested in growing their export market opportunities – and developing new business relationships with architects, designers, developers, builder & contractors – as well as other exhibiting wood products companies from across Canada.
The 15th Annual Global Buyers Mission will be held September 6th to 8th, 2018 and expects to welcome over 800 delegates from all over the world to Whistler, B.C. Canada.
Many thanks must go to our funding Partners who without their continued support, we would not be able to deliver this world class event: Natural Resources Canada Expanding Market Opportunities Program (EMO), Forestry Innovation Investment Ltd. (FII), and Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
Last year, we registered more international buyers than ever before. They came from as far away as Belgium, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam. Again, many thanks must go to the Trade Commissioner Service from a number of international markets that greatly assisted with getting the word out and organizing the buyer recruiting again this year. With their help and dedication, many of the buyers were new to the GBM last year, opening opportunities for Canadian manufacturers to build new business opportunities.
New sales for Canadian wood products manufacturers from the 2017 GBM are estimated to be in excess of $43,000,000!
Once again, we plan to host North American architects, designers, contractors, developers, engineers and specifiers for our WoodTALKS™ program, held from September 6th to 8th, including the popular mini-seminar series on the tradeshow floor Friday afternoon. The extensive program includes lunch and learns, as well as presentations by renowned local architects and speakers. The WoodTALKS Program offers educational learning credits for AIABC, AAA, AIA (US) registered architects, as well as for IDCEC, and BC Housing members.
Products on display from across Canada will include timber frame structures, engineered wood products, treated lumber, reclaimed wood, windows and doors, building systems, Western Red Cedar products, architectural millwork, and a variety of other value-added wood building products.
For the past fourteen years, BC Wood has organized extended mission programs for incoming delegates including site visits and factory tours around the province. This year, pre-qualified buyers will tour production facilities and new project sites in the lower mainland, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan Valley to meet participating manufacturers. Besides helping buyers immediately source high quality, innovative, and competitively priced wood products, the tours help build future business relationships by familiarizing potential customers with Western Canada’s wood species. We are grateful to the many local companies that make the effort to open their mills and plants for these informative and productive tours.
Held at the Whistler Conference Centre, the GBM continues to be Canada’s largest event dedicated to promoting value-added wood producers.
Hope to see you there!
