Each year as the Christmas season rolls around, I take the opportunity to reflect on the year gone by. As we wrap up 2018 and move into 2019, all of us here at Westeck would like to take a moment to show appreciation for our partner builders, home owners, architects, and designers we have had the pleasure of working with this year, as well as to all our fellow team members.
For many people, your interaction with Westeck Windows and Doors may be primarily focused on our online presence and our blog. This year, like those before, we chose to show off some of the projects we have been involved in, and drew your attention to the incredible builder communities in British Columbia, Washington, and Alberta. We also introduced you to our Westeck culture (“Culture of Care”, and “From the Westeck Service Department”). And for the first time, this year we also decided to introduce you, our readers, to some of the many team members who make up the Westeck family. We called these editions “Meet the Experts”. If you haven’t had a chance to read their stories, be sure to go back through our archives!
We also introduced an exciting new segment to our blog, collaborating with local designer Jil Sonia for an informal lesson on design styles and trends. The response has been fantastic. We look forward to sharing even more design-centric content with you in 2019.
Early in 2018 we participated in the Buildex Vancouver show. Next came Fensterbau Frontale, then Vancouver Design Week, the Alberta Association of Architects Banff Sessions, the LEEP Innovation Exchange, The Global Buyers Mission in Whistler BC, and then we completed the year with the Passive House Canada Conference. The whole time, with every show and conference we attended, you our readers came along on the journey with us, seeking us out at the shows and bringing us your questions and feedback. Thank you.
Also in 2018, four clients of Westeck recently received nominations for the Canadian Home Builders Awards, “The Georgies”. Special recognition is in order for Blackfish Homes, Alair Homes Chilliwack, Saint Construction and Lacey Developments. Our warmest congratulations to them!
Here at Westeck knowing that we are going into 2019 with the ability to serve our clients with some of the most energy-efficient windows in the industry is exceptionally rewarding. DWM Magazine awarded us the 2018 Green Award for Innovation, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
I look forward to sharing more of our client’s projects this coming year, and sharing with you a little more about Westeck as we continue to step forward together into new adventures for 2019. We wish you all the very best of the season!
