On November 7 and 8, 2018, Westeck Windows and Doors is proud to be attending the Passive House Canada Conference at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre. Joining industry leaders in the construction and trades industry, Westeck will bring its executive leaders to the conference to gain an even greater understanding of the environmental movement in home construction.
With the October climate change report just released from the United Nations calling for “urgent and far more ambitious action to cut emissions”, it is clear that the time for action is now, and Westeck is committed to developing and producing some of the most energy efficient fenestration products on the market.
On August 10 2018, Neal Turner, General Manager of Westeck Windows and Doors, wrote about our journey to Passive House with the announcement of North America’s only wood outswing Passive House Component window. Neal promised: “With more product development underway, Westeck will be able to better meet the demands for Passive House products now and into the future. This will be our way to help make our customers’ lives better”. Flash forward to October 19, 2018: Westeck made a joint statement with Deceuninck North America, announcing that Passive House Certification had also been earned on their Revolution XL PH Tilt and Turn Vinyl Window.
With two distinctively different Passive House Certified products already available, Westeck stands behind our promise of “Efficiency Without Compromise”. We have been able to create two product lines with the energy efficiency our customers need, and the design capabilities they want. We look forward to attending the Passive House Canada Conference, and learning more about what advancements are being made in the construction movement for sustainability and energy efficiency.
About Passive House Canada
Our mission is to create healthier, more comfortable buildings and contribute to a sustainable future by facilitating adoption of the Passive House building Standard (Passivhaus) across Canada.
Passive House Canada is a national non-profit professional association advocating for the Passive House high-performance building standard. Passive House is recognized internationally as the proven best way to build for comfort, affordability and energy efficiency of residential, institutional and commercial buildings, through all stages of design, construction, and livability.
We were founded in 2013 as the Canadian Passive House Institute West (CanPHI West) and became Passive House Canada | Maison Passive Canada in 2016 in response to demand from the building community to form a single national organization. We facilitate the adoption of the Passive House Standard through our advocacy work, education program, and nation-wide events.
Our head office is in Victoria, BC, with course conductors, volunteers and members across Canada. We are an affiliate of the International Passive House Association and a member of the North American Passive House Network, working in collaboration with local governments and other organizations to transform our built environment.
