Embrace the Patio

We believe that the home is a person’s largest investment, and that one’s home should compliment their style, have excellent use of space, and contain quality products with long life spans. While they say “A good home is built on a solid foundation”, we also know that high quality, beautiful windows, doors, and patio openings, are a key component to a well-designed space.

If you have been following our page for some time, you know we are extremely proud of our offering of patio openings. Some may call these “patio doors”, but in fact they are much more than that- they are often quite literally walls of glass. When a person includes one or more of these products, such as the GrandView Multi Slide, into their home designs, it really allows for an extension of the home into the outdoor space.

This leaves some people with a dilemma. Imagine a living room with a 60-foot-wide opening onto a patio or backyard space. If the outdoor space isn’t to the same standard as the inside space, the views may not be so grand. Recently, we completed a project with Lifestyle Expert Monika Hibbs. She provides many suggestions for décor and entertaining outdoors, to maximize those views, and the additional space outdoor living areas provide. Alternatively, if you are in a coastal area, the most important factor may be the ocean views, as opposed to heavily decorated spaces.

As soon as you know the purpose and aesthetic you want to create outside the home, the question may arise “which patio opening is better”. The fact remains, each one of our openings serves a different purpose based on the home owners style, budget, and space.

The EliteSlide serves the purpose of glassing in extremely wide openings- up to 60’. While certainly many homes have a need for this type of opening, our 425 GrandView, may be better suited for your needs if your opening is 20’ or under. Maybe your home design is better suited to aluminum frames, rather than vinyl. In this case, we happen to carry the performance line of patio openings from Western Window Systems, that features a variety of openings including hinged, sliding, and folding doors – something for every design style.
