As many of you may or may not know, the Philippines is going through a devastating event. Typhoon Yolanda / Haiyan has claimed the lives of an estimated 10 000 people, leaving many without food, shelter, water etc. Many organizations all over the world have gathered together to help those in need. One of which is a company called LBC. LBC is the largest Philippine courier in the world. They have agreed that they will be sending boxes free of charge to help those victimize by Typhoon Yolanda / Haiyan.
Leo Esteban, a design consultant from Westeck and his girlfriend, are doing their part in giving our old clothes, canned goods, chocolates, candies, towels, toiletries etc. and encouraging our friends and families to do the same. Since they don’t have clean water or cooking supplies preferably we would like to send instant food, clothes/towels, blankets, hygienic materials such as toothpaste, toothbrushes etc. Their goal is to send five boxes. Please help us help them. This is a perfect opportunity to clear up some extra closet and pantry space that will go towards a good cause. They will be taking pictures of this process and will keep you all updated.
We can’t imagine the feeling of those that have been victimized. But we do know that if we were there, any help would mean the world to us.
Westeck has an amazing history of rallying together to support our team, our community, and those in need. Please join with us to support Leo in his efforts and start sending the listed required materials to Westeck Windows and Doors now.
LBC has set a deadline to have boxes received and you can drop your boxes off at either the Westeck Head Office in Chilliwack or at the Vancouver Office before the 19th November. We will make sure that these are delivered directly to the LBC from there.
